Sketching

Sketching is very important. Befor you start using a program on the computer, grab a sketch book and draw out your ideas, the colours your going to use, measurements and small details. This way you know how you want something to look when you start creating it in a computer program and also saves time, because you are making less mistakes 

 

 

 

Colour Scheme

 

 

 

 

 

Having a good colour scheme is one of the main key points in design. If you have too may colours all over the space that have no connection can make a person dislike the space. To have a good colour scheme you need to pick a few colours that go with each other, for example the first five colours above go well with each other but what I like about this colour scheme is that the person has added a dominant colour. The very last colour is stronger than the other colours, this colour will stand out. You can have small objects for decoration around the space picking up that colour, or have a feature wall with that colour which will stand out and take a persons attention.

I have been using SketchUp for a year in college, and I find it very easy and useful. Personally thinks its the best way to show your ideas!!
